Youth Events

Our youth events are designed to be welcoming, creative, and community-focused—giving young people a place to connect, learn, and have fun at Veterans Memorial Gardens & Interpretive Centre. Whether it’s hands-on crafts or live music, these programs create positive experiences that build confidence, connection, and a sense of belonging.

Crafting Sundays

Crafting Sundays is a free, drop-in style program (pre-registration encouraged) that offers hands-on creative activities for kids and families. Crafts rotate each week and may include garden-themed projects, “animal allies,” hero stories, colouring, and more—connecting kids to peace, gratitude, nature, and Canadian stories of service. All ages are welcome, and snacks are provided while supplies last.

The Mix Lab

The Mix Lab is a youth-focused DJ experience where the next generation of DJs gets heard. Held weekly, it features live DJs, a dance floor, mocktails, and food in a high-energy, community setting. If weather turns, the event moves indoors with limited capacity, so arriving early is recommended.
