About the Veterans Memorial Gardens & Interpretive Centre
Preserving the Military History of Northwestern Alberta
The Veterans Memorial Gardens & Interpretive Centre is an Alberta Recognized Museum dedicated to honouring, preserving, and interpreting the military history of Northwestern Alberta.
More than a museum, we are a place where history comes alive through memorials, interpretive gardens, museum exhibits, educational programming, historical research, and community partnerships. Every artifact, memorial, exhibit, and story helps connect visitors with the men, women, families, and communities whose service has shaped Northwestern Alberta and Canada.

Our Story
The Veterans Memorial Gardens & Interpretive Centre was established through the vision of the Canadian Motorcycle Tourism Association, an Alberta registered nonprofit that believes heritage, history, tourism, and community are natural partners in building stronger communities.
What began as a vision to create a place of remembrance has grown into one of Northwestern Alberta’s most unique military heritage destinations. Today, the museum continues to expand its collections, exhibits, memorials, educational programming, research initiatives, and community partnerships while preserving the stories of those who served our country.
Looking Forward
Our work continues to grow through new memorials, exhibits, educational experiences, travelling exhibits, community heritage projects, collections preservation, historical research, and partnerships that help preserve and share the military history of Northwestern Alberta for future generations.
Whether you are visiting for the first time, researching a family member, bringing a school class, attending a commemorative event, or partnering with us to preserve your community’s military history, we invite you to become part of the continuing story of the Veterans Memorial Gardens & Interpretive Centre.
