How Board Membership Works
From time to time, the Board of Directors identifies a need for particular skills or experience. When that happens, a member may be nominated to join the Board.
A nomination is not itself a seat. Every nominee must be reviewed and formally voted in by the existing Board of Directors before joining. This process ensures new Board members bring the skills the organization actually needs, and that Board leadership can never be taken over by a wave of new members voting themselves into control.
