Military Memorials of Alberta

Alberta is home to hundreds of military memorials, benches, and parks honouring the service and sacrifice of Canadian veterans.

This interactive map brings as many of them together in one place as possible. Spanning every region of the province, from the Peace Country and northern Alberta down through Central Alberta to the southern prairies, there are all manner of cenotaphs, war memorials, dedicated memorial parks, commemorative benches, murals, and monuments to visit.

Whether you’re planning a heritage motorcycle tour, researching a family member’s military service, or simply want to pay respects at a site near you, this map makes it easy to find what’s out there.

The map is maintained by the Canadian Military Tourism Association (CMTA), operators of the Veterans Memorial Gardens & Interpretive Centre in Grande Prairie, Alberta.

This map is a living resource, growing as more sites are documented across the province. Know of a memorial, mural, bench, or other remembrance installation that isn’t shown?

Share it with us and we’ll add it to the map: info@veteransmemorialgardens.com

Our commemorative garden connects community members, veterans, and visitors through outdoor exhibits, museum collections, and heritage programming dedicated to preserving Alberta’s military history.
