Community Events

Events at Veterans Memorial Gardens & Interpretive Centre bring people together to learn, reflect, and connect. Our calendar includes both community gatherings and commemorative ceremonies—some free, some ticketed—each designed to strengthen community connection while honouring the histories represented throughout the Gardens and Interpretive Centre. Dates, details, and pricing (where applicable) are shared in the event posters and announcements for each season.

International Museum Day

A community celebration of museums and the role they play in preserving stories, sparking curiosity, and strengthening connection. Visitors are invited to explore exhibits and displays and learn more about what’s new at the Interpretive Centre.

Seniors Tea (Seniors Week)

A relaxed, welcoming gathering held as part of Seniors Week. Seniors Tea offers an easy-paced opportunity to connect with others, enjoy refreshments, and spend time in the Gardens and Interpretive Centre.

Community Table (8 weeks)

An eight-week community meal series focused on food, history, and connection. Community Table brings people together around shared meals and conversation, creating a welcoming space to learn, reflect, and build relationships.

Truth & Reconciliation Day Breakfast

A community breakfast held in the spirit of learning, reflection, and respect. This gathering creates space to acknowledge the ongoing impact of Residential Schools and to support continued reconciliation through community presence and education.

Halloween in the Gardens
